Wanted to try some authentic pizza in Pizzo. After searching Google Maps for a while, we found this place.
We never like going to the restaurants in the main squares or on the seafront because they’re often not good and have poor food.
Pizzeria L’aurora is way up away from the beach etc opposite the town hall.
What we couldn’t have known was the superb viewpoint of the sunset right next to the restaurant.
We arrived at 5pm, ordered a pizza each and drinks. The pizzas were fantastic.
All in all a really good experience and a good price too.
After showing the waiter some photos of my Ooni pizza oven at home he let me step into the kitchen to look at the star of the show - the massive pizza oven !!
We left at around 6:15 and sat on a bench across the road to take in the fantastic Pizzo sunset.
Great food and experience, would love to return and do it all over again.

A fabulous dining experience during our visit to Pizzo. Friendly staff and authentic food. Although the menu is superb and offers a wide pizza choice, they are happy to make whatever you want. Small and cosy place with a few tables for inside eating but otherwise take away available. Highly recommended!

Stopped here for a quick pizza meal and ordered their antipasti degustation. OMG, the plates started to come and accidentally we had hands down the best dinner in our week traveling in Calabria. Such a nice family and also made our daughter so so happy! Can’t recover still from how great it was!

We ordered another pizza to take away anyway, because we were really curious how great the pizza must be if the antipasti were this good. We paid around 35€ for the huge antipasti platter (which already included a simple pizza, we didn't know beforehand), another pizza and drinks for two.- Servizio

Can't rave about this place enough. Their arancini is so amazing, a giant come of deep fried deliciousness. I wanted more but had to save room for pizza. And glad I did because it was so good. Classic thin crust, nice and chewy, perfect amount of sauce and cheese and the toppings…Altre recensioni

And glad I did because it was so good. Classic thin crust, nice and chewy, perfect amount of sauce and cheese and the toppings were so fresh. Service was friendly and quick, and they gave me a free dessert of fried doughballs drizzled with chocolate and powdered sugar, I couldn't even finish it all!
A quiet quality pizzeria away from the centre but easily accessible with parking,I wish I had the appetite or time to try more of their dishes!- Cibo

Very good pizzeria in the upper part of Pizzo; not very big but we didn’t have a problem to get a table without reservation. Very good prices and friendly service, recommended!

One of the best pizzas i have ever eaten. The staff is extremly friendly and the prices are very low. It is worth reserving a table seen as there is only a small number of seats. Would definetly recommend the restaurant

Really good antipasti plate ! Perfect to share for 2-3 people, could have this anytime as a main dish. The pizza is also really delicious and it’s so worth „the hike“ uphill from the main touristy square. Definitely a place to have dinner at when visiting Pizzo.

Great pizza place!!! I spent my birthday dinner here with friends a few nights ago. Fantastic tonno and onion pizza… great antipasti dishes for starters as well (and large serving sizes)… the prices are very affordable for the quality! Highly recommend…
